Google Jobs: Your Favorite New Job Search Tool

Not many job seekers know this but Google search is the ultimate job search tool. Here’s why:

🧠 Google pulls listings from all the major job search sites (think: LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed). So you only need to use Google to find posted job listings.

The key to your results success, however, is in HOW you search. Similarly to Finding Hidden Jobs on LinkedIn, you want to use a Boolean search string to customize your search for roles that are best for you.

If I’m looking for Product Management roles in Chicago this is how I would search it:

“𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿” 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗴𝗼 will show you all jobs listed as Product Manager in Chicago. FYI: For job titles with multiple words, use quotes to make sure you search the entire phrase vs the words alone separately.

“𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿” 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗴𝗼 𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 Adding “OR” helps you search jobs in more than one location.

“𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿” 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 helps you search jobs that are remote.

👉🏾 Take it a step further by searching jobs hosted on specific sites including popular Application Tracking Systems (ATS) by adding “𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿” 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲:𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲.𝗶𝗼, "𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿"  𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲:𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻.𝗰𝗼𝗺, "𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿" 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲:𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.𝗰𝗼𝗺
